Offering delivers enterprise-grade hosted voice platform and award-winning network speech applications that complement Microsoft's unified communications strategy
Deerfield, IL, — October 16, 2007 — Vail Systems, a provider of enhanced telephony and voice hosting solutions, and wholly-owned professional services subsidiary, Versay Solutions, announced today the immediate availability of a suite of services optimized for Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, a cornerstone of Microsoft's unified communications strategy. Having attained Gold Certified Partner status in the Microsoft Partner Program, Vail and Versay provide enterprises a wide range of IVR options—from speech application VUI design and development services tailored for both On Demand and premise-based deployments to advanced call control solutions designed to meet the demands and promise of next generation VoIP networks.
"Microsoft's software plus services strategy for unified communications is based on scalable and secure solutions for both on premise as well as hosted solutions, said Yancey Smith, group marketing manager, Unified Communications Group, at Microsoft Corp. "Vail Systems gives Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Speech Server customers the choice of hosting their solutions as a service."
As a Technical Adoption Program partner, Vail has worked with Microsoft on the development of Office Communications Server 2007 over the past two years. Office Communications Server 2007 signifies a major update to Microsoft's speech IVR offering including improved API choices (e.g., VoiceXML), native VoIP (SIP) support, and language expansion. Vail and Versay applaud Microsoft's product evolution and look forward to continuing the companies' strategic relationship to deliver high-value, cost-effective speech solutions to customers.
"With its native VoIP interface, Office Communications Server 2007 is a natural progression of the success of Microsoft Speech Server 2004 and the Vail SIP Telephony Interface Manager (TIM). The latest release is a perfect complement to the Vail Platform," said James Whiteley, President and CEO of Vail Systems. "The modular architecture and rich feature set of Office Communications Server 2007 enables us to deliver the flexibility and reliability that our customers demand."
Recent customer deployments include:
  • Xbox — Vail's large-scale fault-tolerant Office Communications Server 2007 VoIP hosting platform handles routine customer inquiries for the Xbox product line at Microsoft.
  • Mr. Robinson's Driving School (drivingschool.msn.com) — On the MSN-powered site, viewers check Mr. Robinson's voice mail or have Mr. Robinson call a friend with a message asking them to sign up for driving school. The Versay-designed IVR application combines Office Communications Server 2007 technology with Vail's On Demand Recording Services.
  • Vail Address Capture — The popular Vail Address Capture .NET Speech Control module, which allows companies to add pre-tuned U.S.-based addresses to existing speech applications, has been optimized for Office Communications Server 2007.
"Versay is impressed by the many enhancements and attractive price point that Office Communications Server 2007 brings to the market," said Joseph Carey, President of Versay Solutions. "Microsoft's unified communications strategy is responsive to the changing landscape of enterprise customer care, enabling us to build applications that anticipate and accelerate today's shift to seamless device-independent communications."
